Encadernação rendilhada inteira de marroquim castanho, decoração francesa «à la dentelle», de roda na periferia e de pequenos ferros soltos, formando barra, na parte interior, em ambas as pastas. Lombada de cinco nervuras decorada com flores-de-lis ao centro das casas. Seixas douradas e corte das folhas brunido a ouro fino. Guardas em papel de cetim de fantasia, da época, com elementos de decoração floral gravados a ouro. Ao centro de ambas as pastas o último modelo heráldico de Felipe V, encimadas por côroa real e pendente o Tosão de Ouro.

Exemplar com a seguinte anotação coeva ms. no verso do frontispício:«El Rey se digno darmelo en 5 de // Febrero de1741//», seguida de uma assinatura: Monteallegre.

 The Royal Almanach of 1741 is simultaneously a calendar and a repertoire of names, addresses, functions and all the French government and State central and local structures, mentioning all the functions of the high rank officers, and naming them all, from the king to the officers in charge of the most remote commercial outpost in the colonies; from the services of the army to the postal mail timetable in a remote village of France.

Binding: contemporary full calf (brown morocco). A superbly gilt baroque binding, known as "french decor style à la dentelles": rolled tools together with single tools gilt at folders. Five fleurs-de-lis at spine. Paper cut gilt and burnished. Contemporary endpapers in satin fantasy patterns with gilt elements and engraved floral decoration. At the center of both folders, the arms of Philippe V of Spain, surmounted by the Royal Crown and, pending, the order of the Golden Fleece.

On the back of the title page, the following handwritten note: "The King himself gave it to me. February 5, 1741” followed by a signature: Montallegre.
