O segundo volume é uma pasta com abas que contem folhas soltas, muitas delas desdobráveis de grande formato, com plantas, alçados, esboços e fotografias.

Descreve os trabalhos arqueológicos realizados nas ruínas romanas de São Cucufate entre 1979 e 1987. Os  prolongados e complexos trabalhos tornaram-se possíveis pela cooperação entre vários departamentos do Estado e instituições científicas francesas e portuguesas e pela colaboração de grande número de técnicos de alto nível que já anteriormente tinham trabalhado nas escavações de Conimbriga.

Trabalho relativo a uma vila Romana situada na freguesia de Vila de Frades, Concelho da Vidigueira no distrito de Beja, com três fases de construção e uso entre os séculos I e IV. Posteriormente foi um templo cristão da época visigótica dedicado a São Cucufate, a seguir um mosteiro beneditino e por último, até ao século XVIII, uma capela rural dedicada a Santiago. 

Obra de grande qualidade, marco fundamental da arqueologia, uma das mais importantes fontes para o conhecimento da romanização do território que pertencerá a Portugal e de um monumento excepcional, que só tem outros de igual nível em alguns locais da Itália e Sicília.

The second volume is a folder with flaps containing loose sheets, many of them of large format and folded containing blueprints, sketches and photos.

It describes the archaeological works carried out in the Roman ruins of São Cucufate between 1979 and 1987. The long-lasting and complex works became possible thanks to the cooperation between several departments of the State and French and Portuguese scientific institutions, as well as the collaboration of several high level experts who had formerly worked in the excavations in Conimbriga.

Work describing a Roman village located in the parish of Vila de Frades, municipality of Vidigueira in the district of Beja. The village has three construction times and use between the 1^st and the 4^th centuries. After the Roman period and during the Visigoth period it was a Christian temple dedicated to São Cucufate; then a Benedictine monastery; and finally, until the 18th century, a rural chapel dedicated to Santiago. 

A high quality work a n a key milestone for archaeology, it is one of the most important sources for the knowledge on the Roman presence in the territory that later became Portugal, and of an exceptional monument which can only be compared with some places in Italy and Sicily.
