Toda a obra está escrita em latim, mas com vários documentos, transcritos no apêndice, em italiano.

O nome do beneficiado Aurélio de Brito de S. Miguel, na página 185 está rasurado.

Bela edição em que se publicam as Actas do Concílio Diocesano de Portalegre, celebrado nos dias 20 a 22 de Maio de 1714, tendo junto os documentos emitidos pelos dicastérios da Santa Sé, muito importantes para o estudo da organização e funcionamento da Igreja em Portugal no século XVIII, para a história do sentimento religioso e para a história local do Alto Alentejo.

Text printed on excellent quality linen paper in very clear italic and round characters. Apostilles printed in the margins.

Preliminary sheets include Report of the Bishop of Portalegre to the Sacred Congregation of Councils, vote of the cardinal in charge of revising the text, decision of the Sacred Congregation, licences and Prayer pronounced at the Synod by the Bishop of Portalegre.

Pages 1 to 184 contain 'Records of the Council', pages 185 to 272 include 'Appendix' prepared by Aurélio de Brito de S. Miguel, Beneficiary of Arronches, which includes Apostolic Constitutions, Declarations of the Sacred Congregations, Circular Letters and formulae for use in the Diocese. The whole work is written in Latin, but with several documents, transcribed in the appendix, in Italian.

Very important and rare work. Beautiful edition in which are published the Proceedings of the Concílio Diocesano de Portalegre (The Diocesan Council of Portalegre), celebrated on 20-22 May 1714, together with the documents issued by the dicasteries of the Holy See, which are very important for the study of the organisation and functioning of the Church in Portugal in the 18th century, for the history of religious sentiment and for the local history of Alto Alentejo.
