It is a comprehensive description of the history of the Revue* in Portugal, including titles and dates, names of actors and actresses, set designers, managers, and theatres.

The annex to the second volume shows the Revues whose text was printed and which were less than two percent of the total Revues performed between 1851 and 1981.

* A Revue is a type of multi-act popular theatrical entertainment that combines music, dance, and sketches. Though most famous for their visual spectacle, revues frequently satirize contemporary figures, news or literature. The revue art form brings together music, dance and sketches to create a compelling show. It does not have a storyline. Rather, a general theme serves as the motto for a loosely-related series of acts that alternate between solo performances and dance ensembles.
