Folha de rosto com magnífico florão decorativo constituído por conchas, elaboradas volutas e três flores ao centro. Apresenta, na página 1, um cabeção composto por motivos vegetalistas enquadrados por tarja constituída por cordas entrelaçadas.

Impressão muito nítida com caracteres redondos e alguns itálicos nos títulos dos capítulos, sobre papel de linho muito sonante.

Nova redação e edição dos estatutos levada a cabo pela Mesa da Venerável Ordem, por se terem perdido os estatutos originais da Ordem na Província de Portugal no calamitoso terramoto de 1775. Por ausência de regulamentação e para que as directivas da ordem não suscitassem duvidas, foram redigidos estes estatutos, aprovados em Junta e validados pela Rainha D. Maria I de Portugal.

Os estatutos incluem 37 capítulos relativos à Ordem Terceira e 33 capítulos que regulam o funcionamento do Hospital da Ordem Terceira, a que se segue: Termo de acceitação, e aprovação destes Estatutos, feito em Mesa pelos Irmãos della, e com assistencia dos mais Irmáos, que fórmão o corpo de Junta grande em 30 de Abril de 1786; e com a Confirmação de D. Maria I, por Resolução de 11 de Maio do 1787, com o documento redigido, pago e registado em 24 e 26 de Maio de 1787.

No apêndice de 1846 encontramos as Resoluções para uma série de alterações levadas a cabo nessa altura.

Muito raro. Inocêncio não refere e a Porbase não tem exemplares catalogados.

As Ordens terceiras são associações de leigos católicos, vinculadas às tradicionais ordens religiosas medievais, em particular às dos franciscanos, carmelitas e dominicanos. Reúnem-se em torno à devoção de seu santo padroeiro, e no caso presente é de uma Ordem terceira franciscana.

New wording and editing of the statutes carried out by the Board of the Venerable Order, because the original statutes of the Order on the Province of Portugal were lost in the disastrous earthquake of 1775. For lack of regulations and so that the directives of the Order were not in doubt, these statutes were drafted, approved by the Board and validated by Queen Maria I of Portugal.

The statutes include 37 chapters relating to the Third Order and 33 chapters governing the operation of the Hospital of the Third Order, which follows: Term of acceptance and approval of these Statutes, made in the Board by its Brothers, and with the assistance of the Brothers, who form the body of the Grand Board on 30 April 1786; and with the Confirmation of D. Maria I, by Resolution of 11 May 1787, with the document written, paid and registered on 24 and 26 May 1787.

In the Appendix of 1846 we find the Resolutions for a series of changes carried out at that time.

Very rare. Inocêncio does not mention and Porbase has no catalogued copies.

Third Orders are associations of lay Catholics, linked to the traditional medieval religious orders, in particular those of the Franciscans, Carmelites and Dominicans. They gather around the devotion of their patron saint, and in the present case a Franciscan Third Order.
