Encadernação artística recente ao gosto do século XVI com nervos na lombada, ferros lavrados a seco e a ouro nas pastas que são com figuras antropomorficas e torres representaivas da nobliarquia. Super libris em metal armoriado com o escudo de D. Manuel I, fechos proprios e tachas em ferro. Magnifico trabalho da autoria do famoso mestre Império Graça.

Raríssima colecção de vinte e duas gravuras com os retratos de corpo inteiro dos primeiros vinte reis de Portugal com cenas históricas em segundo plano, sendo a primeira o frontispicio da obra gravado com o escudo de armas reais de Portugal, seguido do retrato do conde D. Henrique, o último é o de D. Filipe 4º de Espanha 3º de Portugal e diz 'obit 1665'. Exemplar que com restauros marginais antigos em algumas gravuras.

João MEYSSENS (1612-1670) impressor gravador. Não existem exemplares nas Bibliotecas Nacionais de Lisboa e de Madrid.

Gorgeous bookbinding made by the famous Portuguese bookbinder’s workshop Master Império Graça.

Very rare collection of twenty-two engraved prints with portraits of the first twenty kings of Portugal, depicting historical scenes in the background, the first one standing as the frontispiece of the book with the royal coat-of arms, followed by the portrait of Count Henry. The last plate is the portrait of Philip III of Spain and Portugal, mentioning his obituary in 1665.

Engraved title and 21 portraits, repairs to title and to 3 plates, all within image, 1 plate badly repaired, some fraying to outer margins, some soiling, later marbled wrappers, torn and creased. Printed in Amsterdam, (1665-70?). No copies found at the National Library of Portugal and at the National Library of Madrid.
