O autor foi oficial de marinha, exercendo durante trinta e cinco anos. Tratado sobre esgrima, espingarda, lança e granada de mão. Cohen 236.

 Binding: Contemporary full calf spine gilt, professionally restored with original endpapers decorated on curb or snail pattern.

Title-page with fine engraved allegorical vignette (militaria) contemporary owners signature thumbed, and erasement stain. Text and plates are generally in good condition, but with some water-stains in the fore-edge, and occasional thumbed.

The author served as a navy officer for thirty five years. Treatise on fencing and swordsmanship, and how to prepare men for duels and warfare with rifles, spears and pikes, and hand grenades.
