Parry"s third and unsuccessful voyage to the Arctic in which the Hecla was wrecked. The first, and most successful voyage, began in 1819. On its completion in 1820 Parry had accomplished half the journey from Greenland to the Bering Straight, going some way to solve the ancient problem of the North-West Passage.
