In 4.º de 20x15 cm. Com [xvi], 639, [i em br.] págs. Encadernação da época inteira de pele, com rótulo, nervos e ferros a ouro. Ilustrado com numerosas pautas musicais com as linhas a vermelho e a notação musical a preto.

Folha de rosto impressa a preto e vermelho. Impressão em vermelho e preto muito nítida e bela, sobre papel de linho muito encorpado e alvo, ornamentada com cabeções de fantasia, ou com motivos alegóricos religiosos, com iniciais decoradas de belo desenho e florões de remate, sendo especialmente notáveis os das páginas 72 e 581.

Exemplar com graves defeitos na encadernação com perda total da pele na metade inferior da lombada, da pasta anterior e dos cantos, com perda de pele superficial no resto da lombada atingindo o rótulo e nas pastas, com as folhas de guarda descoladas. Com desgaste de manuseamento nos cantos inferiores das páginas 163 a 172, com as folhas das páginas 179 a 182 mal seguras.

As páginas preliminares contêm uma dedicatória aos religiosos que seguem a regra de Santo Agostinho e o índice temático. A obra contém as músicas, hinos, antífonas, salmos e orações para as procissões nas seguintes festas: Purificação da Virgem Maria, no Domingo de Ramos, em Quinta feira Santa, na Sexta Feira Santa, Domingo de Páscoa, em dias de Acção de Graças como pela Páscoa ou o Corpo de Deus; para as recepções nos conventos do legado, do bispo local, do Padre Geral da Ordem, os reis e os princípes, nas missas, para diversas horas canónicas ao longo do ano, para a procissão em honra de Santo Agostinho (458-469), em honra dos santos a quem são dedicados conventos, na Festa da Visitação de Maria, na festa do Anjo da Guarda, para o Sábado Santo, para a recepção e profissão dos noviços, para as cerimónias de entrada nas confrarias das Sagrada Correia, para as reuniões dos capítulos gerais, para as visitações dos conventos, benção dos hábitos, e recepção dos hóspedes.

A partir de página 173 contém as litanias para diversas ocasiões, as bençãos, incluindo para a eleição do Papa (240-365) os exorcismos (366-386) a administração da Extrema Unção; as formas de comunicar a excomunhões, a forma das absolvições e das bençãos dos Papas, a benção dos pães de S. Nicolau Tolentino, a benção dos Conventos no dia da Circumcisão, na renovação dos votos no dia da Epifania.

Contém as partituras de hinos muito antigos e célebres com por exemplo: Ecce lignum Crucis (p. 73), Crux fidélis, (p. 96), Vexilla Regis (p. 101), Pangue lingua (p. 97), te Deum Laudamus (p. 121), O Crux splendídior (p. 267), Salve Regina (p. 169), Regína Coeli Laetáre (p. 117), Eccè Sacérdos Magnus (p. 133), Vidi aquam (p. 111).

Inclui as letras dos hinos - «Nobis datus, nobis natus»; «Noctis recólitur Coena novíssima,» ; «In mortem à Discípulo»; «De paréntis protoplásti»; «Divìna cujus cháritas»; «Rex sempitérne Coelitum»; «Auróra Coelum púrpurat,»; «Insigne poenitentiae».

Foram impresas edições deste Processionário em Coimbra, 1620 e Paris, 1643 e 1658.

Title page printed in black and red. Very crisp and beautiful red and black printing, on very full-bodied and fine linen paper, ornamented with fancy headpieces, or with religious allegorical motifs, with beautifully designed decorated initials and finishing fleurons, the ones on page 72 and 581 being especially noteworthy.

Copy with serious binding defects with total loss of leather on the lower half of the spine, the front board and the corners, with superficial skin loss on the rest of the spine reaching the label and on the boards, with the endpapers detached. With handling wear to the lower corners of pages 163 to 172, with the leaves of pages 179 to 182 barely held.

The preliminary pages contain a dedication to religious who follow the rule of St Augustine and the thematic index. The work contains the songs, hymns, antiphons, psalms and prayers for the processions on the following feasts: Purification of the Virgin Mary, on Palm Sunday, on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, on days of thanksgiving as for Easter or the Corpus Christi; for the receptions in convents of the legate, the local bishop, the Father General of the Order, kings and princes, at masses, for various canonical hours throughout the year, for the procession in honour of St. Augustine (458-469), in honour of the saints to whom convents are dedicated, on the feast of the Visitation of Mary on the feast of the Guardian Angel, for Holy Saturday, for the reception and profession of novices, for the ceremonies of entry into the confraternities of the Sagrada Correia, for the meetings of the general chapters, for the visitations of convents, blessing of habits, and reception of guests.

From page 173 onwards it contains the litanies for various occasions, the blessings, including for the election of the Pope (240-365) the exorcisms (366-386) the administration of the Extreme Unction; the forms of communicating excommunications, the form of absolutions and blessings of Popes, the blessing of the loaves by St Nicholas Tolentino, the blessing of convents on the day of Circumcision, on the renewal of vows on the day of the Epiphany.
