Escrita pelo Professor Lima, este livro é fruto da sua colaboração com o Professor Egas Moniz desde 1926 na Faculdade de Medicina de Portugal. Moniz foi pioneiro nas primeiras experiências em angiografia cerebral, estabelecendo-a como método de investigação frequente em Lisboa antes de outros centros neurológicos.

Pedro Almeida Lima (Lisboa, 1903 – Lisboa, 1985) iniciou a sua atividade como colaborador de Egas Moniz, sendo um dos executantes das primeiras angiografias e, mais tarde, das primeiras leucotomias. O seu nome ficou, deste modo, indissociavelmente ligado a estes procedimentos, sendo Lima muitas vezes referido como “As mãos de Egas Moniz”, uma vez que este último não operava.

This work, now recognised as a classic in the field, represents the first systematic work on cerebral angiography to be published in England. Written by Professor Lima, this book is the result of his collaboration with Professor Egas Moniz since 1926 at the Faculty of Medicine in Portugal. Pedro Almeida Lima (Lisbon, 1903 - Lisbon, 1985) began his activity as a collaborator of Egas Moniz. being one of the first angiographers and, later leucotomies. His name thus became inextricably linked to these procedures, and Lima is often referred to as "hand’s of Egas Monis", since the latter didn't performe surgere.
