Impresso em três colunas em português, francês e inglês separadas por filetes simples, excepto a nota introdutora e final.

Exemplar com desgastes na lombada e pastas, etiqueta manuscrita a tinta coeva na pasta anterior, danos no festo com algumas folhas parcialmente soltas, assinatura de posse na folha de guarda, pequena mancha e furo de queimadura que afecta a mancha gráfica nas páginas 8 e 9, respectivamente. Tem ligeiras manchas de humidade, manchas de tinta nas páginas 90 e 91, e sublinhados e notas marginais a lápis.

A folha de rosto tem a seguinte nota comercial: Vende-se na Loja de J. A. Orcel, defronte dos Martyres, N.º 20, propriedade do Editor.

Contém nas folhas preliminares em numeração romana uma nota justificativa a edição portuguesa, e índice geral em português e francês. Inclui nas folhas finais catálogo comercial da Bertrand e Filhos.

Obra originalmente publicada em Inglaterra em francês e inglês, sendo esta edição em português, francês e inglês, muito útil para comunicação corrente, que inclui desde frases para uso diário e interventivo, como apresenta uma sessão pedagógica com meses do ano, dias da semana, dias festivos, pesos e medidas, entre outras.

Emílio Aquiles Monteverde, do Conselho de Sua Majestade (Lisboa, 1803 - Lisboa, 1881), foi um diplomata, escritor e pedagogo. Foi Comendador da Ordem de Cristo, Cavaleiro da Torre e Espada em Portugal; Comendador das de Carlos III e de Isabel a Católica de Espanha, da Legião de Honra de França, e de várias outras na Europa e Brasil; Oficial maior e Secretario geral do Ministério dos Negócios Estrangeiros.

Printed in three columns in Portuguese, French and English separated by single lines, except for the introductory and final notes.

Copy showing signs of wear on the spine and boards, handwritten label in ink on the front board, damage to the inner hinge with some leaves partially detached, handwritten ownership title on the title page, small stain and burn hole affecting the text area on pages 8 and 9, respectively. There are slight damp stains, ink stains on pages 90 and 91, and underlining and marginal notes in pencil.

The title page has the following business note: Vende-se na Loja de J. A. Orcel, defronte dos Martyres, N.º 20, propriedade do Editor. (sold at the shop of J. A. Orcel (…). Editors’ property.)

The preliminary pages in Roman numerals contain a note justifying the Portuguese edition and a general index in Portuguese and French. The final pages include a commercial catalogue from Bertrand e Filhos.

Originally published in England in French and English, this edition in Portuguese, French and English is very useful for everyday communication. It includes phrases for daily use and intervention, as well as a teaching session with months of the year, days of the week, festive days, weights and measures, among others.

Emílio Aquiles Monteverde, of His Majesty's Council (Lisbon, 1803 - Lisbon, 1881), was a diplomat, writer and educationalist. He was Commander of the Order of Christ, Knight of the Tower and Sword in Portugal; Commander of the Orders of Charles III and Isabella the Catholic of Spain, of the Legion of Honour of France, and of several others in Europe and Brazil; Major Officer and Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
