Encadernações da época inteiras de pele, com nervos, rótulos vermelhos e ferros a ouro na lombada. Cortes das folhas levemente carminados.

Obra ilustrada, no primeiro volume, com uma gravura litografada representando Pedro o Grande, encimando o brasão imperial da Rússia.

Folhas de rosto a vermelho e preto. Impressão ornamentada com cabeções e florões de remate, bem como capitulares ornamentadas com motivos vegetalistas.

Exemplar com leve mancha na parte superior das folhas e dano na coifa do 1º Volume.

Obra muito rara não mencionada por Inocêncio.

Tradução portuguesa realizada por autor desconhecido da obra de Voltaire (1694-1778) intitulada «Histoire de l"Empire de Russie sous Pierre le Grand». Esta obra segue fielmente o conteúdo e divisão do índice do original francês, aparecido em primeira edição em 1759 e 1763, contendo no final as peças jurídicas fundamentais da história do reinado (Condenação de Alexis, Paz de Neustadt e Coroação da Imperatriz Catarina) traduzidas inicialmente para francês por ordem do imperador.

Binding: Contemporary full calf, with raised bands, red labels and gilt tools on spine. Reddish edges.

The first volume is illustrated with a lithographed engraving of Peter the Great above Russia"s Imperial Crest.

Title pages in red and black. Illustrated with ornated head- and tail-pieces, as well as floral initial capital letters.

Copy with a slight stain on the top of the leaves and damage on the headcap in the first volume.

A very rare work, which is not mentioned by the Portuguese bibliographer Inocêncio.

Portuguese translation, by an unknown author, of Voltaire"s (1694-1778) work «Histoire de l"Empire de Russie sous Pierre le Grand». This translation is faithful to the contents and division of the index of the French original, which had its first editions in 1759 and 1763, containing at the end the legal pieces that are key to the history of the reign (Conviction of Alexis, the Neustadt Peace, and the coronation of Empress Catherine) initially translated into French by order of the Emperor.
