Contém gravuras e imagens da sua aldeia natal e da sua família, assim como reportagens das suas viagens no continente, nas colónias portuguesas, no Brasil e em Roma. Entre as várias ilustrações destaca-se a fotografia da Casa dos Grilos em Coimbra, assinalada com os quartos contíguos de Oliveira Salazar e do Cardeal Cerejeira enquanto académicos.

Nesta obra inclui-se, inevitavelmente, a história do Patriarcado de Lisboa — ilustrada com os seus Prelados e Patriarcas e apresentando a recuperação de antigos seminários, tal como o de São Paulo de Almada, com imagens das suas instalações, assim como a fundação de novos seminários.

D. Manuel Gonçalves Cerejeira, (Lousado, 1888 – Lisboa, 1977), Arcebispo de Mitilene (1928-1929), Cardeal Patriarca de Lisboa (1929-1971), é uma das maiores figuras da Igreja Portuguesa, além de ter sido jornalista, um importante investigador do Renascimento e professor universitário de História, na Universidade de Coimbra.

Francisco Moreira das Neves (Paredes, 1906 – Lisboa, 1992) foi um padre católico, escritor, jornalista e poeta português. Destacou-se como impulsionador das comemorações do Duplo Centenário da Independência de Portugal, em 1940; subdirector do jornal Novidades até 1974 (colaborador desde 1934); um dos directores da editora União Gráfica; cofundador da Rádio Renascença — Emissora Católica Portuguesa, tendo colaborado também na RTP. Enquanto literato, ficou célebre por um estudo das ideias de Guerra Junqueiro e pela presente biografia do Cardeal-Patriarca Gonçalves Cerejeira, de quem foi um dos principais colaboradores.

Photobiographical work with excellent graphics. It contains engravings and images of his native village and his family, as well as reports of his travels on the continent, in the Portuguese colonies, in Brazil and in Rome. Among the many illustrations is a photograph of the Casa dos Grilos in Coimbra, marked with the adjoining rooms of Oliveira Salazar and Cardinal Cerejeira as academics.

Manuel Gonçalves Cerejeira, (Lousado, 1888 - Lisbon, 1977), Archbishop of Mitilene (1928-1929), Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon (1929-1971), is one of the greatest figures of the Portuguese Church, as well as having been a journalist, an important Renaissance researcher and a university professor of History at the University of Coimbra.

Francisco Moreira das Neves (Paredes, 1906 - Lisbon, 1992) was a Portuguese Catholic priest, writer, journalist and poet. He stood out as the driving force behind the commemorations of the Double Centenary of Portugal's Independence in 1940; deputy director of the newspaper Novidades until 1974 (a contributor since 1934); one of the directors of the publishing house União Gráfica; co-founder of Rádio Renascença - Emissora Católica Portuguesa, and also collaborated with RTP (Portuguese Television). As a writer, he became famous for a study of the ideas of Guerra Junqueiro and for this biography of Cardinal-Patriarch Gonçalves Cerejeira, with whom he was one of the main collaborators.
