Gabriel Cramer (Genébra 1704 - Bagnols, França 1752) foi um matemático suíço. Em 1722 obteve na Universidade de Genébra o título de doutor por seu trabalho na área da acústica. Em 1724 tornou-se professor de matemática e de filosofia da Universidade de Genebra. Baseado na teoria de Newton explicou a causa da inclinação da órbita dos planetas. Em diversas viagens entre 1727 e 1729 encontrou-se com grandes matemáticos de seu tempo. Em Basileia com Johann Bernoulli e Leonhard Euler. Em Inglaterra com Edmond Halley, Abraham de Moivre, James Stirling. Em Leiden com Willem Jacob ’s Gravesande. Em Paris com Bernard le Bovier de Fontenelle, Pierre Louis Maupertuis, Georges-Louis Leclerc, conde de Buffon e Alexis Claude de Clairaut.

Gabriel Cramer (Geneva 1704 - Bagnols, France 1752) was a Swiss mathematician. In 1722 received a doctorate from the University of Geneva for his work in the field of acoustics. In 1724 he became professor of mathematics and philosophy at the University of Geneva. Based on Newton"s theory he explained the cause of the inclination of the orbit of the planets.
