Impresso a talhe-doce, sem local nem assinatura de gravador. Ilustrado com uma gravura historiada em 2 rectângulos com legendas: A Rainha Catarina entra em viatura no Terreiro do Paço acompanhada pelos seus irmãos o Rei Afonso VI e o Infante Dom Pedro; precedem o cortejo as viaturas do Marquês de Montagu Embaixador Inglês; e a viatura do Cardeal-Marquês; as restantes carruagens entram no Terreiro sobre o arco da rua da Prata (com alegorias a São Jorge e aos Ourives) e passam sobre o Pórtico Imperial Português; no cais da Colunas a artilharia dispara. Na sequência seguinte a Rainha sai da cerca do Palácio da Ribeira pela Galeria ou passadiço Real, entra na Galeota Portuguesa seguida da sua comitiva inglesa e portuguesa; a Galeota Inglesa encosta para receber a Rainha; ao fundo a Frota Inglesa rodeia o navio Almirante de Portugal que se encontra avante do navio Almirante de Inglaterra (vendo-se a proa do mesmo no canto direito da gravura). With 2 historiated frames containing subtitles depecting the departure of Queen Catherine to England: The Queen Catherine enters the Palace Square (Terreiro do Paço) accompanied by her brothers King Afonso VI and Prince Pedro, the cars preceding the procession are those of the Marquis of Montagu English Ambassador, and the Cardinal-Marquis, the other coaches are about entering the Palace Square from Silver Street (Rua da Prata) and cross under the Imperial Portuguese Porch; at the pier artillery is firing. Following the Queen exits the fence of the Ribeira Palace through the Royal Gallery, or walkway, followed by her English and Portuguese entourage, the English Barge receive the Queen, and in the background, surrounded by the English Fleet the Flagship of Portugal stands along the Admiral and Flagship of England (see the its bow in the right corner of the picture).

Catherine of Bragança (1638-1705) was a Portuguese Infanta and queen consort of England, Scotland and Ireland as the wife of King Charles II. Upon Charles"s restoration to the English throne in 1660, Catherine"s mother reopened negotiations with his counsellors, and a marriage treaty was signed 23 June 1661. She married the king in 1662. The port cities of Tangier and Bombay were part of her dowry.
