Sátira política, na história, os animais de uma quinta revoltam-se contra os humanos para criar uma sociedade mais justa. No entanto, os porcos, que inicialmente lideram a revolução, acabam por concentrar o poder e reproduzir muitas das mesmas injustiças que pretendiam eliminar. A obra é frequentemente interpretada como uma alegoria da Revolução Russa e da ascensão de Joseph Stalin. Uma das frases mais famosas do livro é: “Todos os animais são iguais, mas alguns animais são mais iguais do que outros.”

Jean Giraud (Nogent-sur-Marne, 1938 - Paris, 2012) foi um genial e influente autor francês de banda desenhada que revolucionou a nona arte mundial através de uma impressionante dupla identidade criativa. Entrou para a Escola de Artes Aplicadas de Paris em 1954, assinando no ano seguinte algumas ilustrações na revista Fiction. Entre 1956 e 1958 publicou as suas primeiras bandas desenhadas. Em 1958 conheceu Jijé, com quem colaborou num episódio da série Jerry Spring. Autor que mais influenciou os criadores do seu tempo, a sua criação mais popular é Forte Navajo (argumentos de Jean-Michel Charlier), que surgiu em 1963 na revista Pilote. Sob o pseudónimo Gir, alcançou enorme sucesso no realismo detalhado dos westerns com a célebre saga Tenente Blueberry. Sob o nome Mœbius, transformou a ficção científica e a fantasia com obras psicadélicas e visionárias como O Incal e Arzach, além de cofundar a mítica revista Métal Hurlant. O seu traço único e a sua imaginação transbordante ultrapassaram o papel, deixando uma marca indelével no cinema de Hollywood ao desenhar conceitos visuais para clássicos como Alien, Tron e O Quinto Elemento.

Marc Bati, nasceu em França em 1960, é um artista francês de banda desenhada que vive em Paris. Iniciou em fanzines durante a juventude e publicou os seus primeiros trabalhos profissionais em 1977. Em 1982 conheceu Jean Giraud (Moebius), com quem colaborou na publicação de 8 obras, 3 obras com Bruno Bellamy, incluindo La Nuit de l'Étoile, Le Cristal Majeur, e a adaptação de Animal Farm (O Triunfo dos Porcos). É também conhecido pela série Altor e pelo argumento da série Sylfeline. Teve seus trabalhos publicados entre 1982 e 2000.

A political satire in which the animals on a farm rise up against the humans to create a fairer society. However, the pigs, who initially lead the revolution, end up concentrating power in their own hands and perpetuating many of the very injustices they set out to eliminate. The work is often interpreted as an allegory of the Russian Revolution and the rise of Joseph Stalin. One of the book’s most famous lines is: ‘All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.’

He enrolled at the Paris School of Applied Arts in 1954, and the following year contributed a number of illustrations to the magazine Fiction. Between 1956 and 1958, he published his first comic strips. In 1958, he met Jijé, with whom he collaborated on an episode of the series Jerry Spring. As the author who most influenced the creators of his time, his most popular work is Fort Navajo (script by Jean-Michel Charlier), which first appeared in 1963 in the magazine Pilote. Under the pseudonym Gir, he achieved enormous success with the detailed realism of his Westerns, notably the celebrated saga Lieutenant Blueberry. Under the name Mœbius, he revolutionised science fiction and fantasy with psychedelic and visionary works such as The Incal and Arzach, as well as co-founding the legendary magazine Métal Hurlant. His unique style and boundless imagination extended beyond the page, leaving an indelible mark on Hollywood cinema by designing visual concepts for classics such as Alien, Tron and The Fifth Element.

In 1982, he met Jean Giraud (Moebius), with whom he collaborated on eight works, and three works with Bruno Bellamy, including La Nuit de l’Étoile, Le Cristal Majeur, and the adaptation of Animal Farm . He is also known for the series Altor and for writing the script for the series Sylfeline. His works were published between 1982 and 2000.
