76,5x54,8 cm. 1 folha de pergaminho, manuscrito com tinta de cor castanha, bastante clara e visível. Com registos e títulos em letra dos séculos XVI e XVII, no verso.

O documento apresenta um remendo no canto superior direito, duas manchas, uma delas no canto superior direito e a outra na coluna de texto na parte esquerda do documento, sensivelmente cobrindo o primeiro terço das linhas. Estes defeitos dificultam e por vezes impossibilitam a leitura, em especial na metade superior.

A partir do meio da folha de pergaminho apresenta um enorme rasgão até ao fim e várias manchas de oxidação. Tem também pequenos buracos nas suas margens.

Testamento lavrado em Elvas, em 1 de Agosto de 1478, por Fernan Lourenço Bogios e a sua mulher Beatriz Anes. Foram testemunhas: Lourenço Coelho, João Lourenço, Lourenço Anes, Gil Anes de Lelas, Lopo Gil, João Afonso, e João Pires moradores em Elvas. Foi feito por Rui Pires, tabelião geral e escrivão do Rei na comarca e correição de entre Tejo e Guadiana e custou no ano de 1478 a quantia de 180 rrs.

Os outorgantes do documento possuíam propriedades em Almada, Juromenha e tinham instituído os Morgadios do Lago e de Cayola. O Morgadio do Lago era administrado, em 1743, por João de Quental Lobo, segundo um documento do Arquivo Distrital de Portalegre.

Determinam que os seus corpos devem ser sepultados no Mosteiro de S. Domingos de Elvas, deixam várias quantias à Igreja do Salvador, às igrejas da cidade destinadas a missas e à Igreja de Santa Maria dos Casados cem reis de foro para as missas por suas almas.

Deixam umas casas na Rua do padrão, em Elvas para serem habitadas por pobres, sem pagarem renda, com meios para serem sustentadas e determinaram que um dos seus filhos seria o provedor.

Aos vários filhos, Maior Fernandes, casada com João Soares, Lourenço Vasques, Teresa Fernandes, Nuno Fernandes, Gil Fernandes e Lopo Fernandes, deixam várias propriedades, objectos, vestuário e quantias em dinheiro.

O membro do casal que sobreviver será o testamenteiro, ficará com um terço da herança em usufruto e não poderá casar nem praticar actos que diminuam a herança. Por sua morte o escravo Francisco ficará forro.

76.5x54.8 cm. 1 sheet of parchment, handwritten in brown ink, quite clear and visible. With records and titles in 16th and 17th century handwriting on the verse.

The document has a patch in the top right-hand corner, two stains, one in the top right-hand corner and the other in the text column on the left-hand side of the document, roughly covering the first third of the lines. These defects make reading difficult and sometimes impossible, especially in the top half.

From the middle of the parchment page there is a huge tear all the way through and several oxidation stains. It also has small holes in its margins.

Testament will drawn up in Elvas on August 1, 1478, by Fernan Lourenço Bogios and his wife Beatriz Anes. Witnesses were: Lourenço Coelho, João Lourenço, Lourenço Anes, Gil Anes de Lelas, Lopo Gil, João Afonso, and João Pires, residents of Elvas. It was drawn up by Rui Pires, notary public and clerk to the King in the region and jurisdiction of between Tejo and Guadiana, and cost 180 rrs in 1478.

The grantors of the document owned properties in Almada, Juromenha and had established the Morgadios (Majorats) of Lago and Cayola. The Morgadio do Lago was administered in 1743 by João de Quental Lobo, according to a document in the Portalegre District Archive.

They determine that their bodies should be buried in the Monastery of S. Domingos de Elvas. They leave various sums to the Church of the Savior, to the churches of the city for masses and to the Church of Santa Maria dos Casados one hundred reis as a fee for masses for their souls.

They left some houses in Rua do Padrão, in Elvas, to be lived in by poor people, without paying rent, with the means to support themselves, and determined that one of their own sons would be the provider.

To their various children, Maior Fernandes, married to João Soares, Lourenço Vasques, Teresa Fernandes, Nuno Fernandes, Gil Fernandes and Lopo Fernandes, they leave various properties, objects, clothing and sums of money.

The surviving member of the couple will be the executor of the will, will hold one third of the inheritance in usufruct and will not be able to marry or carry out any acts that diminish the inheritance. On his death, the slave Francisco will be left free.
